Meta is seeking an experienced Interaction (UI/UX) Sound Designer to join our Creative Audio team. Our mission is to create meaningful experiences that enhance human connection through the power of audio. Your focus will be on defining audio and haptics experiences for Meta’s Reality Labs devices (Quest, Ray-Ban Meta) and software (Horizon, MetaAI App). Embedding yourself with Product Design, you will join a team of sound designers who ship high-quality experiences that enhance the overall user experience across all of our products. You will be involved in all aspects of the design process, from concept to iteration and refinement, to preparing and implementing assets, to testing performance and approving designs for public release. As a centralized team, we touch nearly every product Meta produces, making us integral to the company's success. We collaborate with teams across Meta to drive sonic innovation and create meaningful experiences.UI/UX Sound Designer - RL Design Responsibilities:Lead and drive complex interaction audio design + haptics projects through completionCraft unique, memorable, and landmark sonic experiences for the 3+ billion people who use Meta technologiesUse your proven understanding of UI/UX sound design to define and distill broad concepts into actionable deliverablesNavigate and develop complex AI tools and processes to increase sprint velocityContribute to the development of sound design systems by establishing audio design standards, guidelines, and best practices, while being one of the go-to experts for all things sound, including design standards, best practices, and implementation guidelinesAct as a source of truth for all things sound including design, design standards, best practices, and implementation guidelinesExecute in time-sensitive and highly fluid environmentsClearly present complex work to executive leadership at a rapid cadenceCollaborate closely with other sound designers to ensure systems alignment across productsCollaborate closely with all partners to determine scope of work, planning, and execution of sound design and implementationInfluence key business decisions within the organization and product/business area, leveraging clear data-driven decision makingInfluence and create unique, memorable sonic experiences in order to maintain quality and leverage existing resources for product consistency and efficiencyDevelop and maintain a consistent sonic brand identity across key Meta touchpointsGive and solicit feedback from other sound designers in order to continually raise our bar for qualityMinimum Qualifications:8+ years creating UX sonic experiences for future hardware and immersive softwareDemonstrated experience creating bespoke interaction sound design for high-profile productsIn-depth experience working with Pro Tools and/or other professional DAWsExperience with sound design synthesis, latest plugins, and foley recordingUnderstanding of human-centered designExperience troubleshooting and problem solving complex technical issuesUnderstanding of Design Systems and systems thinkingExperience testing implementation of soundsUnderstanding accessibility requirementsExperience managing, scoping, and communicating project milestones and deliverablesDemonstrated time-management and organizational skills to meet delivery specifications and deadlinesExperience communicating effectively with technical teams and software developers to ensure seamless and efficient sound implementationPreferred Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesExperience with audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD)Video editing skills (Premier Pro, Final Cut, Avid, etc)Experience mixing in a variety of formats, including spatial audioUnderstanding of programming and technical sound paradigms in VR, AR, or other immersive mediumsExperience prototyping and presenting in product design tools (Figma)Experience designing UI/UX audio specifically for AR and VR experiencesProven experience distilling broad concepts into actionable deliverables for AI behaviors and interactionsExperience creating audio for system-level software developmentAbout Meta:Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
