Job Description

Responsibilities

Gather information and shoot, write, and edit newsworthy events including breaking/spot news, general news, and feature stories relevant to the Central Florida community.

Collaborate with line producers, reporters, and anchors to gather elements and assist in the production of news stories and interview segments.

Collaborate with the Assignment Desk, Producers, and Reporters to research news segments and place them on appropriate platforms.

Use desktop editing systems to edit video, including breaking news.

Create digital video news products of day‑of news stories for multiplatform distribution – Website, App, Social Media, Fast Channel, OTT, and linear.

Support Reporters, Anchors, and Photojournalists with content needs.

Search wires and other partner sources for stories.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

Currently pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field at an accredited institution and able to provide documentation of degree progress.

Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

If selected for an in‑person internship, willing to work in Orlando, FL.

Desired Qualifications:

Eager to learn.

Self‑motivating.

Team player.

Able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
