Summary
This position is assigned to one or more installations and supports all FFR Programs including Sheltering, Community Services (Morale, Welfare & Recreation, Fleet & Family Service Center and Child & Youth Program) and Food Services. NDW serves a patron base of active duty military, Department of Defense civilian employees, military and civilian retirees, family members, and reservists.
Responsibilities
Plan, execute, evaluate, and manage marketing programs for regional community programs.
Develop professional marketing and promotional plans, write individually or in cooperation with other marketing or program staff.
Present marketing and promotional plans to stakeholders, including Program Managers and Navy Senior Leadership.
Create and promote creative promotional options and determine target markets in partnership with program staff.
Maintain regular meetings and liaisons with managers/key personnel to gather program information.
Conduct marketing analysis, data gathering and tabulation using survey tools such as Google Analytics, MIS/POS, customer suggestion cards, phone interviews and focus groups.
Prepare marketing materials, interpret research findings, and present recommendations to diverse audiences.
Publicize and encourage patronage through advertising campaigns (email, websites, presentations, speeches, publications, banners, printed materials, etc.).
Coordinate distribution plans and ensure posted information remains current and timely.
Act as liaison for proof approvals, manage marketing deadlines, and communicate with Visual Information Specialists.
Conduct installation‑level and regional public relations activities.
Handle administrative duties such as ordering approved equipment and supplies, tracking credit‑card purchases, and maintaining filing systems.
Assist the regional marketing director with developing and disseminating regional marketing plans and campaigns; may travel to regional sites.
Maintain and update annual installation‑level quality‑of‑life event calendars and strategic plans.
Support the Commercial Sponsorship Coordinator with event information, solicitation materials, and after‑action summaries.
Lead regional marketing projects such as website management, marketing training, and regional newsletters.
Provide customer service, set up exhibits, coordinate photo and video production, and disseminate media to the widest audience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of three years of experience in marketing or related area, OR a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field and one year of related experience (preferred).
Knowledge of all phases of marketing and communications, including principles, methods, practices, trends and techniques.
Ability to gather and effectively organize information.
Proven ability to analyze business needs and develop marketing plans and recommendations in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to solve problems with skill, tact and resourcefulness, carrying out projects independently and handling divergences within policy and accepted practices.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Skill in marketing and promoting programs and motivating patrons.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer) and other relevant software.
Solid organizational skills, detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects within deadlines.
Requirements
Must have salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
Must successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check; any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
A valid State driver’s license is required to operate motor vehicles.
May be required to work periodically at various regional sites in addition to the assigned location.
Starting May 7, 2025, non‑affiliated individuals requesting access will need a REAL‑ID compliant driver’s license or another acceptable form of identification to access Indian Head Navy Base.
Education
Proof of education is required if qualifying based on education and experience.
