The Associate Designer will report to and work in partnership with the Design Director to create boys and mens designs that cater to the contemporary, street and mass markets - with a focus on tech packs. Product includes full collection sportswear, tops and bottoms, knits and wovens, swim. Experience with girls design is a plus.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Take ownership and responsible for development tech packs, art pages and assist with production tech packs
Work on creating direction briefs focusing on new fabrics, artwork, trims & trends
Support the team with cad sketching, color multipliers, trend research, new design capsules and SMU projects
Great eye and experience working with prints and graphics in Illustrator and Photoshop: researching, creating direction, recoloring, editing, sizing, placing on garments, pitching
Communicate with cross functioning teams, vendors, factories and freelance designers for project status updates
Additional duties: track development samples, assign style numbers, fabric library organization, sample organization, assist with design presentations
REQUIREMENTS:
2 to 3 years of professional industry experience in mens/boys apparel design
Excited to take lead and ownership and bring their ideas to the table
Strong sense and understanding of apparel construction, design process, fabric, color, trend & embellishment
Firm knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel
Excellent with cad sketching, cads, cad presentations and navigating through Illustrator and Photoshop as they apply to an Apparel Designer
Organized and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Team player & collaborator, eager to learn, positive vibe and attitude
