Job Overview
The Communication Specialist reports to the Chief of Communication and is responsible for developing, managing, coordinating, networking, implementing, and monitoring an advocacy and communication strategy across the country, regional, global, and UN Country Team levels, promoting awareness and support for children’s and women’s rights.

Minimum Requirements
Education: Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, International Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
Work Experience: 8 years of relevant experience in communications strategy, media relations, advocacy, public relations, stakeholder engagement, crisis communications, campaign management, content development, fundraising communications, and related fields, with international and national experience required.
Demonstrated skills in communication strategy and fluent written and spoken English, strong performance‑planning capabilities.
Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language.
Experience in emergency contexts, fundraising communication, media relations with international press, managing communication teams, monitoring and evaluating communication initiatives, and developing multimedia content.
Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
