Idaho Department of Labor is seeking a skilled, mission-driven Program Supervisor to lead the statewide Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) program. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role ensures high-quality, compliance, and effective service delivery that supports veterans across Idaho’s workforce system. The Program Supervisor is responsible for supervising JVSG staff located throughout the state, supporting effective program operations, monitoring performance outcomes, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements, and promoting continuous improvement. This position serves as a program resource for staff, local office leadership, and internal and external partners, helping ensure JVSG services are integrated, veteran-centered, and aligned with workforce system priorities.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and collaborative leader with experience supervising staff, interpreting and applying program requirements, analyzing performance data, solving problems, and translating policy into practical operational guidance.

The position is located in Boise. **Salary offered will be based on qualifications and experience.

Example of Duties

Provide statewide operational leadership for the JVSG program to ensure efficient, effective, consistent, and compliant service delivery.

Establish clear expectations, procedures, and performance standards for staff and monitor progress toward program goals.

Collaborate with local office leadership, workforce program staff, and other partners to support integrated service delivery for veterans.

Manage JVSG grant activities, track budgets and expenditures, and ensure compliance with federal requirements.

Prepare, review, and analyze regular and ad hoc program, performance, fiscal, and compliance reports.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications -You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume and/or work history to your application. Some knowledge of management practices. This is typically gained by one year of work experience that included all the essential elements of management (Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling) OR completion of two upper division college-level courses, or approximately 60 hours of management training, that included all the essential elements of management AND six months of work experience performing all the management elements.

Experience:

Developing procedures and/or monitoring a budget. Typically gained by at least one year of experience developing procedures and/or monitoring a budget which included allocating expenditures, reconciling accounts and making fund transfers, or supervising these functions.

Supervising staff. Typically gained by at least one year of experience where responsible for interviewing and selecting staff, providing work direction and training, evaluating performance and generating employer problem solving solutions. Include the length of time, number and level of staff supervised. This could be supporting staff and/or a limited number of staff

Providing liaison with customer/provider groups. Typically gained by at least one year of experience working with one or more community groups of adults or providing liaison with customers and/or provider groups in a leadership role to share information, coordinate efforts and/or achieve shared goals.

Interpreting federal or state regulations. Typically gained by at least one year or more with responsibility for reviewing documents or actions for compliance with laws, regulations, and/or policies; OR through explaining to others how laws, regulations or policies apply to specific situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the JVSG program.

Experience in the workforce programs.
