Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and effective Audio-Visual Technician to provide comprehensive audiovisual support for USTDA's conference rooms, training center (Business Center), and special events. USTDA hosts approximately 50-60 events annually including high-level delegation meetings, business briefings, and training sessions requiring professional AV setup and technical support. This position ensures all audiovisual equipment remains operational, troubleshoots technical issues during events, and coordinates with vendors for equipment maintenance and upgrades.

Responsibilities and Duties

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment for conference rooms, training center, and agency events

Provide on-site technical support during meetings and events including microphone connectivity, monitor setup, and presentation material access

Test and maintain AV equipment functionality across seven conference rooms and one training center

Conduct twice-weekly walk-throughs of all conference spaces to verify system operability

Troubleshoot connection issues with projectors, displays, video conferencing systems, and sound equipment

Coordinate with audiovisual subcontractor to schedule repair visits and equipment upgrades

Create and edit audio-visual content including presentations, videos, and multimedia materials

Train agency staff on proper operation of conference room AV systems

Maintain inventory of AV equipment, cables, adapters, and accessories

Document equipment issues and maintain service records for all AV systems

Coordinate with USTDA on AV-related system upgrades and technology integration

Support setup of furniture, refreshment stations, and room configurations for events

Ensure conference rooms are event-ready with functional AV equipment and proper connectivity

Respond to urgent AV technical issues to minimize disruption to scheduled meetings

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum education: High School diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in audiovisual technology, electronics, or related field preferred

Minimum experience: 3 years of audiovisual technical support experience in professional or government environment

Experience with conference room AV systems including projectors, displays, video conferencing equipment, and sound systems

Knowledge of common AV connectivity protocols (HDMI, VGA, USB-C, wireless presentation systems)

Experience with video conferencing platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WebEx)

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly during live events
