Summary
The Floating Director supports multiple Chroma Early Learning Academy locations by providing
leadership coverage, operational support, staff coaching, and compliance oversight as needed.
This position is ideal for an experienced childcare leader who is flexible, organized, and
passionate about maintaining high-quality early childhood programs across multiple schools.
The Floating Director may temporarily oversee a school during leadership transitions, support
enrollment and staffing initiatives, assist with licensing and Quality Rated requirements, provide
training and mentorship to administrative teams, and ensure operational consistency throughout
all assigned programs.
This role requires frequent travel between schools and the ability to quickly adapt to different
teams, environments, and operational needs.
Duties
Leadership Operations
Provide leadership coverage for schools during vacations, leaves, vacancies, or periods of additional support.
Maintain smooth daily operations while ensuring compliance with company standards and state regulations.
Support Regional Directors with operational projects, audits, action plans, and school improvement initiatives.
Assist in maintaining positive school culture and professional workplace expectations.
Help implement company policies, procedures, and best practices consistently across locations.
Support centers with classroom management strategies and behavior support guidance.
Licensing Compliance
Ensure compliance with all Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning licensing requirements and company expectations.
Assist with licensing visits, Quality Rated preparation, and corrective action plans.
Conduct classroom and operational observations to identify areas needing improvement.
Ensure proper documentation, staff files, training records, ratios, and safety procedures are maintained.
Staff Support & Training
Coach and mentor Directors, Assistant Directors, teachers, and support staff.
Assist with onboarding and training of new administrative team members.
Provide guidance on staffing, scheduling, labor management, and classroom support.
Help reinforce professional communication and customer service expectations.
Family & Community Engagement
Maintain positive relationships with families and provide leadership support during escalated concerns when needed.
Assist schools with enrollment growth strategies, tours, and retention initiatives.
Represent Chroma Early Learning Academy professionally within the community.
Administrative Responsibilities
Support payroll review, labor management, scheduling, and staffing coverage.
Assist with incident report review, documentation, and follow-up procedures.
Monitor operational systems including child files, attendance, and staff compliance tracking.
Support implementation and monitoring of company systems such as Procare and other operational platforms.
Requirements
Minimum age of 21 years old.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of childcare management experience required.
Strong understanding of childcare licensing regulations and Quality Rated standards preferred.
Experience managing staff, enrollment, and school operations.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to travel frequently between assigned locations.
Must be flexible, dependable, and able to adapt quickly in changing environments.
CPR/First Aid Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to move throughout classrooms and school environments daily.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds as needed.
Ability to supervise children indoors and outdoors for extended periods.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk frequently throughout the day.
