Description
The Playhouse Actor assists in the oversight of the summer Playhouse Program by creating, organizing, and delivering youth theatre productions to youth in the community. This is a seasonal position and hours of work will vary.

Examples of Duties
The job duties and/or essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of the Summer Playhouse Program
Prepare and rehearse script for weekly performances
Assist and recordkeeping including attendance, incident/accident reports, and equipment needs
Provide direction to co-workers and patrons in the event of an emergency
Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required
Qualifications
Age 16 or older and previous theatre experience; ability to create and perform theatre productions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and ability to creatively perform theatre productions for a youth audience. The ability to perform the following work tasks with or without reasonable accommodations.

Ability to act out performances
Ability to promote a fun and positive atmosphere for patrons
Ability to manage setup/breakdown theatre equipment and/or props
Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with patrons and co-workers
Ability to be flexible with work hours, work independently, and complete job tasks as assigned
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Work Environment/Physical Job Requirements: Employee is required to frequently to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands and fingers dexterously, reach with hands and arms; intermittently sits, stoops, kneels and/or crouches. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Exposure to outside environmental conditions in a variety of weather conditions, and exposure to noise.
Seasonal / Variable hour positions are not eligible for a benefit package. However, the City of South St. Paul does provide Earned Sick & Safe Time (ESST) leave in accordance with Minnesota's ESST law.
