Overview
The Director – BD/NPI Business Partner & Strategic Sourcing leads and executes strategic sourcing and contracting activities across assigned External Manufacturing (EXM) initiatives, working closely with Teva’s Business Development and R&D organizations. The role shapes procurement upstream engagement, supports both top‐ and bottom‑line needs, and strengthens sourcing discipline within a developing procurement environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage strategic sourcing activities for BD/NPI initiatives, including RFx development, supplier negotiations, and selection.
Drive commercial discussions with suppliers, addressing pricing, capacity, and key commercial terms.
Support contract development, review, and execution in partnership with Legal and cross‑functional teams.
Ensure sourcing decisions balance cost, quality, capacity, service, and risk.
Deliver measurable sourcing value to support annual savings and value targets.
Track sourcing actions, outcomes, and benefits using standard tools and templates.
Partner with Finance to validate value and report as required.
Conduct procurement‑related due diligence to support BD go
o‑go decisions.
Engage suppliers through structured sourcing and onboarding processes.
Provide supplier and market insights to inform category strategies and BD planning.
Resolve sourcing‑related supplier issues and support asset onboarding or divestment where applicable.
Identify and mitigate sourcing, commercial, and supply risks, including capacity and single sourcing.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate closely with Category Managers and other cross‑functional stakeholders.
Key Qualifications
Demonstrated experience working upstream with BD/R&D organizations in a business‑partnering capacity.
Proven record of executing strategic sourcing and contracting activities, preferably within External Manufacturing or regulated industries.
Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
Solid stakeholder communication and collaboration abilities.
Analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
Comfort with evolving, lower‑maturity procurement environments.
Education
Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
Associate’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience.
Salary Range
Annual starting salary between $161,200 and $201,500, depending on geography, skills, education, and experience.
