Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
The Product Line Planner, Fiber is responsible for enhancing visibility, reporting, and utilization of global fiber inventories across both fiber and cable businesses. This role focuses on identifying slow‑moving inventory segments and driving corrective actions in collaboration with supply chain, commercial, and PLM teams. The Product Line Planner also leads Global Coloring and Ringmarking planning activities for Fiber and Cable as part of the monthly Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SiOP) process. In addition, the role identifies and drives projects that support Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) supply chain initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact across Fiber and Cable for optimizing global fiber supply distribution through third-party and intercompany channels.
Own and continuously enhance global fiber inventory visibility, partnering with internal teams to improve dashboards, reporting, and key performance metrics.
Lead inventory review processes to support disposition decisions and actions needed to maintain healthy global inventory levels.
Collaborate with extended supply chain, commercial, and Product Line Management teams to identify and move slow-moving inventory.
Act as the key supply chain partner for the development and implementation of next‑generation inventory management solutions with Manufacturing and Engineering teams.
Partner with regional planning teams as part of the monthly SIOP process to develop and execute the global Coloring and Ringmarking plan of record across Fiber and Cable.
Serve as the subject matter expert for global Coloring and Ringmarking capacity and capability, supporting both current execution and long‑term scenario planning tied to growth and evolving fiber identification requirements.
Lead and support supply chain strategy projects while collaborating with the Supply Chain Solutions team to develop and implement new supply chain capabilities.
Education and Experience – Required
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
Minimum 3 years experience in supply chain planning, production scheduling, materials planning, procurement, logistics, or operations
Experience interfacing across multiple functions including commercial, supply chain, finance, and engineering
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI skills
Desired Skills
Experience in ERP / supply planning tools
APICS certification (CPIM/CSCP or equivalent)

The range for this position is $82,207.00 - $113,035.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
