Day in this role
You arrive to a clean, safe production floor where high-speed injection molding and packaging lines produce plastic closures for food, beverage, and industrial customers. After a quick pass-down with the prior Maintenance Technician, you scan the Maintenance Communication Board, prioritize safety-related calls, and jump into action. You collaborate with production to keep equipment optimized, log updates in OPS Tracker and MVP, and support planned PMs while staying ready for any urgent repair.
About The Opportunity
Bericap SC, LLC is growing and adding a full-time, hourly Equipment Reliability Technician who reports to the Maintenance Manager. Your mission is to sustain uptime, improve performance, and respond quickly to maintenance requests so our teams achieve the best production results.
What you will take on
Partner with all departments to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize production equipment.
Respond immediately to safety-related machine issues and any emergency or potential emergency.
Complete PMs and corrective repairs; create and close work orders in MVP when not addressing urgent work.
Enter accurate daily updates in OPS Tracker and MVP; participate in continuous improvement projects from the Maintenance Manager.
Support the tooling department as needed.
Safe, food-grade operations
Work injury‑free by following safety procedures and wearing required PPE.
Maintain GMP standards at all times (including no jewelry, cell phone, or nicotine in any form on the floor).
Report any food safety concerns immediately to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
Keep your area organized and clean with ongoing housekeeping throughout the shift.
Lift up to 35 pounds unassisted; stand and walk for the full shift.
Support Continuous Improvement Programs; initiate corrective actions and log “See It, Sort It, Report It” opportunities.
Flex to unscheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed; complete duties assigned by the Operations Manager.
Your toolset
Developing capability with Windows-based applications, blueprint reading, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical code/controls, PLCs, machine shop equipment, metal fabrication, mechanical principles, and basic welding.
Basic electrical troubleshooting with the ability to read electrical schematics.
Hands‑on skill replacing heater bands and heat relays and troubleshooting heat zones.
Experience servicing hydraulics, including replacing hydraulic pumps.
Proficient in diagnosing pneumatic systems.
Background we value
1–2 years working with PLC/PC-controlled machinery and in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting, plus maintenance and repair of plant utilities.
Preferred: injection machine troubleshooting; high-speed packaging equipment repair; working knowledge of injection processing.
Preferred: experience with ISO or similar quality systems and SQF or comparable food safety systems.
Education
High school diploma or a technical college diploma in a related field preferred.
