DIRECTOR, DESIGN SHOPS – WEST
Serena & Lily

is seeking a Director, Design Shops – West to lead a dynamic and established portfolio of Design Shop Managers. This role is responsible for driving business performance through strong leadership, talent development, and operational excellence—while ensuring a consistent, elevated customer experience across all locations. The West Director will focus on optimizing performance, strengthening leadership capability, and driving consistency across a more mature fleet, while partnering cross-functionally and with peer regional leaders to support continued growth. This role will also support our Outlet locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead & Develop High-Performing Teams

Coach, develop, and inspire Design Shop Managers to lead with confidence and accountability

Build a strong leadership bench through recruiting, succession planning, and ongoing development in a fast-growth environment

Foster a culture aligned with Serena & Lily’s brand ethos: Innovation, Style, Integrity, Optimism, Expressiveness, Confidence, and Appreciation

Lead effective store visits focused on driving behaviors which enable the team to consistently deliver results in all areas of the business

Create an environment where teams feel supported, challenged, and engaged

Advance and elevate tenured leaders while strengthening retention and engagement

Drive Business Performance

Own regional performance, including sales, productivity, and expense management

Analyze regional performance using data tools to identify challenges and execute action plans for underperforming locations

Translate company strategy into clear priorities and actionable plans

Identify opportunities to drive comp growth and improve efficiency across both established and developing doors with hands on approach

Adapt approach to meet the needs of new and evolving markets with urgency

Elevate the Customer Experience

Ensure brand standards are executed consistently across all locations

Leverage tools, technology, and insights to continuously refine and elevate the experience

Navigate diverse, high-touch markets with a strong customer-first mindset

Operational Excellence & Scale

Reinforce efficient, scalable processes that support consistency and performance

Ensure compliance and operational standards are executed across the fleet

Champion and reinforce best practices in S&L systems

Play an active role in new store openings, including setup, training, and launch execution

Ensure and enforce the visual presentation and merchandising aspects of the stores are consistent with brand vision and company standards.

Provide hands-on support during critical growth moments and leadership transitions

Partner with cross-functional teams to improve processes and resolve challenges

Collaborate with peer regional leader to ensure alignment and share best practices

Synthesize field insights to inform leadership and enable faster decision‑making

REQUIREMENTS

Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams

Strong business acumen and analytical skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to influence cross-functionally and lead through complexity

Self‑starter with a solutions‑oriented mindset

Proficiency with MacOS, Microsoft Office, and virtual tools (e.g., Zoom); design or 3D rendering experience a plus

Ability to travel.

Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system and POS system.

Ability to work varied hours/days, including weekends and holidays due to the needs of the business.

COMPENSATION

$120-140k

per year is the anticipated starting base pay for this role. The role is bonus eligible. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this role. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, education, and skills.

Employees can enroll in our company’s 401k plan. During the first year of employment, full‑time employees accrue twenty‑one days of PTO and seven paid holidays throughout the year.
