Job Description
This position is for the Director of Bands of Carlisle ISD and is a twelve month contract plus stipend. Responsibilities include teaching the high school marching and concert band, team teaching the 7th grade band, and teaching three beginner band classes daily. This position will manage the band staff, inventory, budget, and oversee all aspects of the band program. The candidate chosen must have good time management, good communication skills with staff, students, and parents. Carlisle ISD employs three full time directors in our school district, with both assistant director positions teaching band classes only during the school day. The marching band performs at all home and away football games, marching contests, and other events as needed. The concert band performs concerts during the school year and also attends UIL Concert & Sightreading Contest. Solo & Ensemble and All Region contests will also be held during the year to promote student growth and learning. Carlisle ISD has been a consistent award winning band program being the Class 1A/2A TMEA Honor Band six times and won the UIL State Military Contest five times. The school district is looking for the next person to continue the excellence and tradition that has been established in the last two and half decades. Job Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Music Education Certified by Texas Education Agency for Music Military Marching Band Experience Experience in teaching band is a plus
At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
Bachelor degree preferred.
