Transmission Modelling Research Associate . You'll be joining a high-performing research team focused on power market analysis across North America, working on a key product that informs major investment decisions in the clean energy space. Key responsibilities
Research and analyze transmission congestion, losses, and hourly nodal prices across North American energy markets
Build and refine Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) power flow models in collaboration with regional research and modelling teams
Develop reports synthesizing insights on investment opportunities for solar, wind, battery, and conventional assets
Ensure consistency in inputs, approach, and products across all North American markets
Support the rollout of new software products, including interactive maps and asset dispatch model tools
Develop and share tools for analyzing nodal results and preparing client reports
Serve as an internal expert on nodal analysis for Research and Advisory teams
Present complex technical findings clearly to clients across the energy industry
Qualifications & skills
3+ years
experience in
energy markets , ideally with a strong focus on
transmission analysis
Undergraduate or graduate degree in
Electrical Engineering, Physics , or a similarly quantitative discipline
In-depth understanding of
Locational Marginal Price (LMP)
formation and power flow fundamentals
Strong proficiency in
Python, SQL, and Excel
for working with large datasets
Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Pragmatic commercial mindset with strong attention to detail
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
A collaborative team player who is confident contributing at all levels
