Account Executive

(2-5 years’ experience) with the desire to work across accounts and disciplines to join the agency.
A critical role at IMG, Account Executives work closely with staff at all levels in devising communications strategy and securing placements for our clients, telling stories across platforms, and maintaining strong relationships both with reporters and client contacts.
If you have a passion for media and messaging, have a wide range of relationships with regional, national, and trade reporters, have strong writing and interpersonal communications skills, and bring a drive for networking and fostering new business leads, this position may be perfect for you.
IMG has a hybrid work model. This role is based in our downtown Boston office with eligibility to work remotely two days each week. The salary range for this role is $57,000 to $65,000.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Execute and support in the development of earned, owned, paid, and shared media strategy across clients
Devise communications plans and write messaging for clients
Maintain day-to-day contact with clients, serving as a central point of contact and reporting progress and activities to client teams
Prepare for, facilitate, and manage follow up for client calls and presentations; ensure all deliverables are moving forward
Work with fellow members of account-level staff to draft and edit written content, including press releases, media advisories, social media content, and internal communications collateral
Support thought leadership strategy through drafting and submitting award and speaking nominations, op-eds, and LTEs
Develop creative ideas for and pitch story ideas by phone or email to national, regional, and trade journalists across print, broadcast, and online outlets; facilitate secured opportunities through interview and publication process
Monitor for client mentions and understand relevant industry news to flag
Support crisis communications efforts
Support leadership and managers’ efforts to secure new business by attending industry events, networking, conducting research, and providing administrative support with proposals
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

2-5 years of relevant communications experience, preferably with at least 1 year in an agency or campaign setting.
Superb writing and editing skills
Strong understanding of the news media and political landscape
Experience working with and pitching reporters at local, national, and trade outlets
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong work ethic with the ability to be resourceful, proactive, and adaptable
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Deep understanding of social media and experience drafting content across platforms
Comfortability with speaking and presenting to clients
Desire to network and drive new business goals
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive
