The Social Media Associate is responsible for supporting the execution of Wintrust’s social media strategy. This position focuses on content creation, coordination, and community management while providing hands‑on support across social media, sponsorship activations, and brand storytelling.

Social Media Support

Write and develop social media content including, but not limited to: captions, posts, graphics, carousels, etc.

Repurpose blogs, videos, and other content into platform‑specific formats

Assist in building and maintaining the social media content calendar

Log and track social media project requests through Workfront

Assist with cross‑functional collaboration

Partner with designers and internal teams to bring content to life

Ensure all content aligns with Wintrust’s brand voice

Identify content opportunities to reach younger audiences

Social Audience Engagement Support

Monitor social media channels and engage with relevant content

Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely manner

Partner with compliance and internal teams to address customer‑related questions

Identify engagement opportunities to increase audience growth

Sponsorship Activation Support

Support planning and coordination of sponsorship activations

Capture content at events (photo and short‑form video)

Assist in executing partnership‑related social content

Content Coordination and Performance Tracking

Attend weekly Communications team meetings and cross‑functional meetings as needed

Assist in tracking and reporting social media performance metrics

Help identify trends and insights to inform content optimization

Maintain organization across content, timeline, and deliverables

Stay current on social media trends and best practices

Qualifications

Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

Some experience in social media, content creation, or digital marketing, either professionally or volunteer.

Strong understanding of social media platforms including: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and X.

Experience writing engaging, audience‑first social media content.

Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Sprout, Hootsuite).

Experience in community management and customer engagement.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).

Basic understanding of social media analytics and performance tracking

Ability to travel locally to both Wintrust and partner‑related events, including evening and weekend availability

Compensation
The estimated hourly rate for this role is $20.20 – $26.45 along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
