The

Account Director

requires professional attention to detail and organization. This individual is a strategic catalyst, who will excel in guiding clients and managing the daily workflow. The Account Director leads the identification of organic business opportunities and works with their team to determine optimal approaches to secure them. The Account Director is responsible for developing scopes of work and monitoring account budgets. They understand the pharmaceutical industry's network. They will be required to work with other agency account leaders to facilitate optimal client service and quality experience.

What You’ll Own:

Manage and retain an assigned book of business

Responsible for pursuing and securing organic business development for assigned client accounts

Monitor client, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to leadership team. Coach account teams on market and competitor insights

Maintains strong current knowledge of the market and client strategies driving collaboration with clients on program and account strategies

Develop, lead, and execute client pitches, identify new business opportunities. Lead onboarding of new client and development of new client SOPs

Develop estimate/budget and SOW

Coordinate MSA approval and renewal process with finance, client procurement, and leadership

Accountable to ensure all project timelines are met and budgets are managed and reconciled. Responsible for internal financial reporting and management

Delivers high quality programs across customer portfolio to exceed sales targets, and to generate renewals, whitespace, and new business revenue within existing and new customers. Proactive growth for existing and organic pipeline.

Partners with internal stakeholder to effectively mitigate internal conflict to drive high quality programs

Has in‑depth insights to Decera's core competencies (both med com and insights & engagement) and identifies clients and market needs. Supports the account team in expanding services to meet the client strategic need

Leads monthly Health Checks and performs account analysis, proactively raising issues and/or suggesting changes to enhance profitability

Instills the CCS core values (curiosity, respect, include others) across the organization to support individual growth, team growth, and client excellence.

Education/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in science, communications, and/or business

Previous account management experience, preferably in a medical communications agency setting

Experience managing Publications deliverables, such as manuscripts, abstracts, posters, is preferred

Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook

Proficient with Salesforce

Resourceful with an ability to solve problems creatively

Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

Ability to manage multiple accounts and individuals simultaneously

Demonstrates strong presentation skills and ability to write succinct reports

Ability to perform in a fast‑paced work environment

Demonstrates professional and effective communication with external and internal stakeholders

Business development and proposal writing experience

Ability to travel and attend on‑site and industry meetings, if required, at least four times a year
