About the Opportunity
The N.U.in Program is one of Northeastern’s signature global first‑year experiences, embodying the university’s experiential approach to education. Launched in 2007, it offers students a transformative semester abroad before returning to Boston in the spring semester. Partner institutions deliver academic courses while Northeastern staff provide on‑site leadership and support services.
Students in the program study abroad in their first semester with peer first‑year students and begin classes at Northeastern in Boston the following semester. The N.U.in Program expands to multiple European locations in 2026.
Job Summary
The Program Supervisor oversees all on‑the‑ground operations of the N.U.in Program, serving as the primary liaison between Northeastern University and global partner institutions. Responsibilities include:
Managing daily program operations, including student services, curriculum coordination, and logistics for on‑site activities.
Leading enrollment efforts, speaking to admitted students and families, and overseeing the pre‑departure orientation.
Co‑creating student transition events, marketing, and communications initiatives.
Supporting student visa application processes in collaboration with the GEO Visa team.
Assisting with budget management, financial reporting, and monthly reconciliation.
Serving on a 24/7 on‑call rotation during the fall semester to address student support and crisis response.
Working with a Student Success Manager and other success coordinators to ensure academic support, health, and wellbeing services.
Collaborating with host institution staff, the Global Experience Office (GEO), and Student Life leads to design orientation, immersion, and academic support programs.
Leading or co‑leading small group sessions for the assigned site team.
Reporting on program performance, expense projections, and spending to central staff.
Living on-site with students for at least 3–4 months during the fall semester, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in higher education, international education, student affairs, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in higher education, residence life, student support services, or international programs.
Significant intercultural experience through study or work abroad.
Strong communication, problem‑solving, organization, and time‑management skills.
Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office software; familiarity with Salesforce or Slate preferred.
Experience with budget reporting and event coordination for large groups.
Fluency in English; additional language proficiency and regional expertise preferred.
Demonstrated ability to build inclusive, supportive communities and to navigate complex, ambiguous environments.
Understanding of NAFSA’s professional ethics and competencies.
Flexibility, patience, diplomacy, and a strong sense of initiative.

Compensation
Compensation Grade/Pay Type: 107S
Expected Hiring Range: $52,820.00 – $74,607.50
Salary will be determined by factors such as education, experience, location, and skills.
