Spectrum News is hiring Senior Video Editors. If you are interested, apply here! Spectrum News is made up of over 30 hyper-local news and regional sports networks dedicated to producing original, unbiased and high-quality content. We publish via the Spectrum News app and connected television, and provide 24-hour news across traditional and digital platforms.

Responsibilities

Organize and lead the editing process, ensure the product meets expectations, and maintain overall awareness.

Produce shows from start to finish.

Collaborate with a team to create compelling, timely, and accurate content for traditional and digital platforms.

What Our Senior Video Editors Enjoy Most

Establishing and maintaining timelines and ensuring productions meet format requirements, including storyline, video/audio, graphics, and timing.

Maintaining a continuous research and development process for identifying and implementing the latest editing technologies and practices to maximize efficiency.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Technical background in non-linear editing and Premiere Pro — 5+ years; experience as a lead editor preferred or 3+ years

Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, broadcasting, radio/tv/film, or equivalent work experience preferred

Technical Skills: Proficiency with high-level video effects using Premiere Pro, knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, with complex plug-ins and filter packages; Pro Tools experience

Skills: Strong editing and visual technique creation, collaborative and results-oriented mindset

Abilities: Ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results; ability to analyze situations requiring in-depth evaluation

Travel: Willing to travel to discover important stories and interact with the community

Schedule: Ability to work different or extended shifts for breaking news and severe weather, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to shoot and edit media

Experience with Dalet newsroom software

Compensation and Benefits
The base pay for this position generally is between

$60,400.00 and $116,200.00 . The actual compensation offered will consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums; some positions may be eligible for additional forms of incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
