Job Description
NBC4 is seeking a Platform Manager (Newscast Producer) who will be responsible for producing newscasts, breaking news and special events across all the station’s linear and online platforms.
We are looking for a rockstar producer who is full of ideas and creativity who can take a show or a project from pitch to production. Do you love breaking news, digging deeper into the big story and writing compelling teas? If so, we are looking for you!
Maintain editorial standards aligned with the “4 You” brand (fairness, accuracy, balance) including playing an active role in the editorial process
Produce assigned daily newscasts, breaking news, and special projects across linear and digital platforms
Lead creative production and writing, including compelling teas and headline-driven storytelling
Partner with content producers to select, shape, and sequence the most relevant stories
Collaborate with anchors, directors, and the production team to deliver smooth, seamless newscasts
Coordinate with Daypart and Platform Managers to ensure complete local coverage across platforms
Work with the digital team to integrate social/mobile content and advocate for station digital platforms
Write, produce, desktop edit, and gather content as needed across platforms
Coach, mentor, and help support a pool of content producers as needed
Produce content for special projects assigned
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience producing a high-quality, daily newscast under tight deadlines in a major market
Must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays and varying shifts as assigned and when necessary to meet operational demands
Strong experience with writing, producing, and desktop editing including systems like Dalet and Adobe Premiere
Proficiency in newsroom production software and broadcast technology
Eligibility Requirements
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
Must be 18 years or greater.
Must have a valid driver's license

This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
