Position Overview:
The Men’s Associate Designer (Activewear) will support the design and development process across men’s knit, woven, casualwear, and activewear categories. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop seasonal collections from concept through production while ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics, customer expectations, and market trends.
Responsibilities of the Men’s Associate Designer (Activewear):
Assist in the design and development of men’s knit, woven, casualwear, and activewear categories.
Research market trends, fabrics, colors, trims, and silhouettes to contribute to seasonal concepts and product direction.
Create sketches, CADs, and technical flats using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PLM systems.
Support the creation of mood boards, color palettes, and seasonal concept presentations.
Collaborate with Product Development and Technical Design teams to ensure accurate execution of garments.
Participate in fittings and assist with garment adjustments and fit comments.
Maintain organized design files, line sheets, sample tracking, and seasonal documentation.
Communicate with vendors and mills regarding fabric development, trims, and sample updates.
Ensure all designs align with brand standards, customer expectations, and target price points.
Required Experience/Skills for the Men’s Associate Designer (Activewear):
Minimum 2+ years of experience in men’s apparel design.
Experience designing men’s casualwear or activewear.
Strong knowledge of knit and woven product categories.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PLM systems.
Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrications, and fit.
Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Men’s Associate Designer (Activewear):
Experience within premium sportswear.
Strong eye for trend research, color, and fabric development.
Experience working directly with overseas vendors and mills.
Knowledge of technical design and product development processes.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design is required.
