THE CITY OF TIPP CITY IS INVITING QUALIFIED APPLICANTS FOR THE DIRECTOR OF MUNICIPAL SERVICES

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the administrative direction of the City Manager, the Director of Municipal Services is responsible for the overall operations of the City’s Water, Sewer, Electric, and Public Works Departments; administers capital improvement projects; ensures compliance with state and federal regulations; and engages in short and long-term planning for the City’s utilities & public works. The Director also provides professional planning and construction engineering services in support of the City's infrastructure systems. The Director is expected to provide responsive, courteous, and efficient service to City residents, contractors, and the public. The Director is also responsible for responding to citizen complaints, attending public meetings, administering construction contracts, and managing and delegating engineering work through consulting engineer. The incumbent is responsible for the accuracy of their work product involving execution of various procedures and processes. The Director of Municipal Services is ultimately responsible for 36 employees, supported by a current annual operating & capital budget of over $25 million.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, public administration or related field and four (5) years’ experience working in utilities or public works for a public agency and three (3) years’ supervisory experience or; any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Master’s degree preferred. The City is seeking candidates who are self-starters who have the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and maintain insurability under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.
