JOB SUMMARY
The Product Manager Strategist II works in collaboration with company stakeholders and teams to establish a long-term product vision that defines the product's objective. This role seeks continuous innovation in order to keep existing products competitive and launch new products based on market trends, customer needs, and EPB's strategic direction. The Product Manager Strategist II tracks, measures, and analyzes product performance throughout the product lifecycle to fulfill customer needs, sales, and financial goals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Track and manage all products and services through their life cycle quarterly to ensure they meet sales and financial goals.

Partner with Finance and Purchasing to understand costs, margins, and market implications affecting performance and make pricing recommendations to meet sales and financial goals.

Review market conditions quarterly to identify trends, competitive entrants, and action to ensure EPB remains competitive.

Review commercial and residential product vendor agreements annually to ensure optimal technology and pricing.

Create an initial business case to evaluate the feasibility of product development, including the following information: product description, product positioning, customer problem, product value/benefits, target market, success definition, competitive landscape, regulations, and a high-level financial viability review.

Develop a product strategy document for each new product that documents key points for sales and field, defines the product position, and provides a blueprint for how the product is sold and installed.

Maintain documentation detailing COGs determination in the business case and the resulting margin.

Define, create, and implement the necessary analytics for each product before launch.

Develop a go-to-market strategy and sales method based on a primary analysis of key customer adoption patterns and competitive insights.

Create high-quality PR-FAQs for any new or improved product or service, and use the PR-FAQ as a gating function to product development.

Develop external and internal FAQs detailing customer and internal stakeholder questions.

Prepare monthly product review reports with performance data on new products and core product families (voice, video, and internet).

Stay proactively involved with the PM on any new product implementation and remain the product owner from inception.

Act as the product champion by presenting new product overviews to each functional work group during the new product launch process.

Set individual product goals and monitor monthly progress to recommend necessary changes to the product, pricing, messaging, and training.

Recommend consumer satisfaction research and utilize this research to stay abreast of emerging technology and evolving customer behavior.

Listen to 40 customer calls per month and document findings to assess product strategy, customer input, and customer experience.

Meet with internal customer-facing groups to gather information and feedback.

Develop and annually update a 10-year product roadmap based on actual performance balanced with future trends.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.

4-6 years of related training and experience.

Experience working in a marketing environment preferred.

Excellent customer service, telephone, records management, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.

Intermediate to advanced PC skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.

CERTIFICATIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in state of residence and demonstrate safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles.

Excellent oral and written communication, organization, and prioritization skills, flexibility, and team-working skills.

Ability to quickly learn EPB business activities, including billing, rates, contracts, etc.

Ability to accept assignments in other process areas within the organization without losing focus or commitment to excellence.

A high degree of thoroughness and accuracy.

Excellent mathematical and analytical abilities are required.

Capable of managing and completing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Ability to consider various alternatives in arriving at the best solutions.

May perform other duties as assigned.

EPB provides electric and communications services, which are considered critical infrastructure by the Department of Homeland Security. This EPB job is essential to support this critical infrastructure and may be required to work onsite or in the field to maintain these services.
