Field Campaign Manager

to generate grassroots support along with the Oceana’s Field Team for Oceana’s U.S. campaigns by working in strategic states to reduce plastic pollution, prevent the expansion of offshore drilling and seismic air gun blasting, protect the ocean wildlife, promote responsible fishing practices, and defend core environmental laws like the Magnuson‑Stevens Act. Field staff build support for our plastics campaign at the local and state level and build on our winning model to stop the expansion of offshore oil and gas drilling activities by engaging municipalities and business leaders. This position is based in Los Angeles/CA area.

Responsibilities

Organize and build political power in the assigned state and directly manage a team of field staff.

Develop and execute campaign strategy in the field and work closely with the Field Director, campaign directors and staff to meet campaign goals and objectives.

Manage field staff workload, initiating action on individual deadlines while engaging as part of a dynamic and high‑performing team.

Build grassroots support for plastics, offshore drilling, seismic air‑gun blasting, wildlife protection, responsible fishing, and core environmental laws such as the Magnuson‑Stevens Act.

Engage municipalities and business leaders to stop the expansion of offshore oil and gas drilling activities.

Qualifications

At least 9 years of progressively complex professional experience.

At least 4 years of management experience.

Experience managing a diverse mix of field representatives to meet time‑bound, individual and campaign goals.

Salary range: $80 – 85K annually.

Work Schedule
Oceana’s U.S. offices operate on a hybrid schedule. Staff must work from their assigned office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. With agreement between the employee and their supervisor, the employee may work remotely Monday and Friday.
