Your Role

Senior Brand Manager, Pain Portfolio

This position is a key leader within the marketing team responsible for leading, developing, and driving all aspects of our brands for the Pain Portfolio, a must‑win category for the success of Elanco. Responsibilities include managing products already on the market, competitive defense strategies, lifecycle management and pipeline development. This leader is also responsible for contributing to the overall development of our marketing capabilities by leading and developing team members and advocating for the marketing efforts.

Your Responsibilities

Business Ownership of PAIN portfolio

  • Enable delivery and management budget for the Pet Health PAIN portfolio
  • Identify and track health and performance KPIs for the assigned portfolio
  • Ensure accuracy of forecast
  • Drive product demand through insightful campaigns and marketing materials
  • Develop pricing strategies
  • Partner with Regulatory, R&D, Sales/Commercial, Business Development and Innovation to drive LCM planning

Strategy Development

  • Develop portfolio strategy for PAIN products, ensuring maximization of brand potential including lifecycle management in partnership with Regulatory, R&D, Sales/Commercial, Business Development and Innovation
  • Lead development of brand plans for assigned group of products
  • Embodies an entrepreneurial spirit—creativity to identify opportunities when others may not see them and a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to execute

Brand Messaging and Activation

  • Develop messaging platform utilizing market research insights to yield persuasive and resonating value propositions and messaging options in collaboration with key cross‑functional partners
  • Work collaboratively with cross‑functional partners, including vet sales Retail, Digital Transformation and lead agency/ies to develop integrated marketing campaigns for focus and select defend brands

Insights and Analytics

  • Develop a deep understanding of the market, customer, and customer needs
  • Analyze needs and requirements by interacting with customers, consumers, and sales teams, determining appropriate market research to determine customer needs and to identify competitive pricing
  • Insights expertise—understand what market research to do and work with Insights team to action research projects
  • Excel in reading, interpreting, and analyzing research and other reports and make strategic and tactical recommendations based on this data
  • Highly analytical, strong understanding of market/dispensing data

Customer Centricity

  • Spend appropriate time (min. 20%) in the field to support Sales teams, meet customers and consumers, relevant conference presence, and gather feedback on a first‑hand basis
  • Conduct market information monitoring by maintaining an up‑to‑date Market Information System covering the market in which the brands/products compete, including market sector values, market shares and position, competitive positions and information, market research data

Develop and maintain business relationships

  • Build positive relationships with relevant external bodies, key influencers and opinion leaders within the industry and profession, addressing meetings and attending conferences, and general customer liaison at all levels

Managerial

  • Leverage diversity of team to strengthen performance and results
  • Drive team engagement to maximize business results
  • Coach team and personalize development plan of each team member
  • Provide career growth opportunities while also delivering constant feedback along with the tools needed to achieve long‑term professional growth

What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Business required, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Healthcare Marketing with experience in Animal Health and/or PAIN preferred
  • 2+ years of managing people
