Digital Content Creator
Full‑time | Location: Manhattan | Department: Creative Communications | Salary: $50,000 – $75,000.

Overview
The New York City Mayor’s Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs, coordinating public agencies and departments, and managing public property. Former Mayor Eric Adams served as an NYPD officer, state senator, and Brooklyn borough president. The administration focuses on efficient services, economic growth, reducing inequality, improving safety, and affordable housing.

Team Overview
The Mayor’s Office Creative Communications team generates digital content that represents Mayoral policy. The team uses digital media to tell the city’s story through live social media coverage, photos, videos, graphics, etc.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily social media content creation for multiple platforms and voices, focusing on @nycgov, @nycmayor, and @nycmayorsoffice Instagram channels.

Collaborate on multiple projects across accounts with key team members, city agencies, and external partners.

Support social media video content production and editing.

Create Instagram infographic carousels using established templates for each brand.

Transform substantive, complex government announcements into engaging content.

Monitor and forecast internet trends and identify leveraging opportunities.

Work closely with the social media lead to ideate and execute high‑performing posts and recurring series.

Qualifications

Experience shooting and editing short‑form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

Proficiency in Premiere Pro or equivalent for video editing.

Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Express.

Minimum Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and at least two years of experience in administration, research, management, analytical work, community work or community activities.

A four‑year high‑school diploma (or equivalent) and at least six years of experience as described in 1.

A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and/or experience; all candidates must have at least one year of experience in administration, research, management, analytical work, community work or community activities.

Preferred Skills

Background in political communications, marketing, or social media.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
