A respected and long-established Yorkshire law firm is seeking an ambitious Commercial Property Solicitor to join its growing Leeds office. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Solicitor with around 2 years’ PQE who is ready to take ownership of their own caseload while developing their career within a supportive and expanding team.

This is far more than a standard Commercial Property role. The firm is seeking an ambitious Solicitor who is looking for genuine long-term progression with the clear potential to develop into a future Head of Department role as the team continues to grow.

Due to continued expansion and an increasing volume of high-quality work, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of the Commercial Property department alongside an experienced Head of Department. The team currently consists of the Head of Department, a paralegal and dedicated secretarial support, creating an environment where individual contribution is recognised and career development is actively encouraged.

This opportunity would suit someone who is commercially minded, eager to build strong professional relationships and enthusiastic about becoming involved in networking and business development activities across Leeds and the wider Yorkshire market. The firm is looking for someone who wants to establish themselves as a key part of the department’s long-term success rather than simply managing a caseload.

The Role

Managing your own varied caseload of commercial property matters with appropriate supervision and support

Handling a broad range of transactions including commercial sales and acquisitions, landlord and tenant matters, leases, refinancing and general commercial property work
Working closely with the Head of Department on more complex transactions and development matters

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, agents, lenders and other professional contacts

Playing an active role in networking and business development initiatives across Leeds and the wider Yorkshire market

Contributing to the continued growth and long‑term success of the commercial property department

About You

Qualified Solicitor with approximately 2 years’ PQE in Commercial Property
Someone looking for genuine long‑term progression with the ambition to develop into a future Head of Department role

Able to manage your own caseload confidently with minimal supervision

Strong technical knowledge across a range of commercial property transactions

Commercially aware with a proactive and ambitious approach to career progression

Enthusiastic about networking, business development and growing professional relationships
