Optimized Process Designs (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking an I&E 3D Design Lead to lead and actively participate in the development of high-quality, constructable 3D I&E design models across a portfolio of EPC projects. Operating under the direction of the I&E Design Manager, the I&E 3D Design Lead serves as the primary technical authority for I&E 3D modeling, while mentoring designers and coordinating closely with piping, civil, structural, procurement, and construction.

This role will sit in office in Katy, TX Monday - Friday.

What You Will Do

Lead development and execution of the I&E 3D model from early project phases through IFC and construction support

Establish, maintain, and enforce I&E 3D modeling standards, model organization, and best practices

Actively model and review I&E scope including cable tray, duct banks, electrical equipment, instrumentation equipment, junction boxes, field devices

Coordinate I&E 3D scope with piping, civil, and structural

Perform and lead model QA/QC reviews

Provide technical guidance, coaching, and oversight to I&E 3D designers

Support development of 3D-derived deliverables, including plans, sections, isometrics, and construction details

Review vendor equipment drawings and 3D models and integrate approved vendor data into the project model

Support field and construction teams by responding to model‑related RFIs and providing design clarification as needed

Promote and reinforce a safety‑first culture in all design activities

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Demonstrated experience providing technical direction to I&E Designers

Willingness to independently perform detailed I&E modeling while also conducting formal technical reviews of design deliverables

Experience producing electrical and instrumentation designs for industrial and/or EPC projects

Experience with CADWorx and/or other 3D design platforms

Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship now or in the future

What Will Put You Ahead

Associate's degree or higher in Electrical, Instrumentation, Design, or equivalent technical discipline

Extensive CADWorx modeling experience

Practical field or construction experience supporting EPC projects

Experience reviewing and validating vendor drawings and 3D models

Working knowledge of industry standards such as ANSI, API, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA 70E, and PIP

Proven ability to improve modeling efficiency, consistency, and design quality across projects
