Director of Music Ministries

At St. Luke’s Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Park Ridge, Illinois, music and the arts are central to the congregation’s life and ministry. Each week, music helps proclaim the Gospel through engaged assembly singing, strong choral and instrumental leadership, and worship shaped by the rhythm and richness of the church year. Sunday worship currently includes a simple service of Holy Communion at 8:30 a.m. and a principal, live-streamed service of Holy Communion at 10:45 a.m., with average weekly on-site attendance of 140.
The Director of Music Ministries provides primary musical leadership for worship, including organ and piano leadership, choral and instrumental direction, and collaboration in liturgical planning. In addition, this staff member will contribute approximately 5 to 10 hours per week in a secondary area of ministry support, tailored to the individual’s gifts and the congregation’s needs, with possibilities including worship materials and bulletin preparation, communications and digital media, social media, youth and family engagement, volunteer coordination, etc.
