Staff Motion Designer

The Staff Motion Designer reports to the Creative Director and leads the motion discipline across billing, marketing and product experiences – creating standards, motion style guides, templates, and high‑bar motion work for videos, campaigns, emails, events and more.

Key responsibilities

Act autonomously as a creative lead throughout fast‑paced workflows to deliver high‑bar marketing assets while balancing business and technical constraints.

Interpret and contribute to strategic briefs; evaluate and propose creative and motion solutions in line with business needs; iterate execution with feedback and finalize assets.

Present work, logic and feedback to senior leadership and stakeholders, explaining priorities and using compelling arguments.

Maintain and share expertise and best practices for common workstreams; seek and disseminate relevant information from partners.

Anticipate bottlenecks, propose solutions, and communicate status regularly with project managers.

Establish relationships with cross‑functional teams to understand collaboration needs, resolve conflicts, and integrate learnings.

Iteratively elevate personal and team creative bar; develop tools and processes to raise overall output quality.

Manage personal career development, define quarterly goals, seek feedback, and identify stretch opportunities.

7+ Years of Proven Impact:

A track record of high‑level motion design expertise transforming complex ideas into compelling visual narratives.

A deep understanding

of core motion design principles, editing, compositing, UI/UX, and strong design fundamentals (form, color, composition, layout, typography).

Mastery of Craft:

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop), Figma and Lottie; 3D proficiency (Cinema 4D / Blender) and experience with creative AI workflows are a plus.

San Jose salary range:

$117,400 – $146,800 USD

Draper salary range:

$99,800 – $124,700 USD
