Job Overview
Field Service Representative will provide hands‑on technical and operations support of reciprocating compression equipment and supporting utility systems within customer facilities during commissioning, start‑up, operations, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, performance testing, and trouble‑shooting situations as required. The Representative will serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert, oversee and delegate work assignments, and write Field Service workbooks. Excellent problem‑solving, time‑management, leadership, sales, service, and marketing skills are essential.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Undertake customer support tasks, completing on‑site installations, repairs, maintenance, and tests, ensuring task management so that all work progresses according to schedule.
Serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all technical areas of Field Services support.
Provide on‑site technical support and perform customer support tasks.
Deliver, install, repair, maintain, and test equipment.
Resolve operational issues in the field.
Identify issues and perform troubleshooting procedures.
Determine customer needs and offer recommendations.
Collaborate with colleagues and share information to ensure top‑notch customer support.
Manage work progress and ensure adherence to schedules.
Track and document work progress and write service reports.
Adhere to all company rules and regulations.
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
Travel 200‑300 days per year anywhere from 2‑14 weeks at a time.
Work extended hours up to 10‑14 hours per day including weekends/holidays; 6‑7 days per week. Typical work week can be 60‑84 hours.
Ascend/descend ladders, examine equipment, work in confined spaces, move boxes weighing 40‑50 pounds, work in outdoor weather conditions, walk long distances, and share company vehicles with other employees at customer sites.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Associate’s Degree with a technical concentration (Bachelor’s Degree recommended) or equivalent work experience (minimum).
Formal training in a technical certificate program.
Technical training in the oil and gas industry or an associated industry.
Completion of all Reciprocating Compression Systems product training.
Minimum 10‑15 years of experience in Reciprocating Compression.
Meets all sub‑level (FS Mechanic I, II, III, IV, and Crew Chief) requirements.

Advanced Engine & Compressor Theory, OEM and Non‑OEM.
Advanced Product Knowledge: Cooper Bessemer, Ajax, Superior Engine, Superior Compressor, Gemini Compressor, Clark, Waukesha, Dresser, Caterpillar.
Mastery of Advanced Shop Math Skills.
Mastery of Computer skills – Word & Excel.
Mastery of product documentation (engineering standards, blueprints, drawings, schematics, Bill of Materials, Service bulletins).
Advanced leadership skills.
Mastery of Engine Balancing.
Mastery of Web Deflection/Alignment.
Product Knowledge.
