Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced
Data Storytelling and User Experience Specialist II
to support the design, development, and adoption of user-centered analytics products across a complex enterprise environment. This role focuses on applying UX and data storytelling best practices to dashboards, reports, presentations, and self-service analytics tools.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience improving the usability and visual effectiveness of data assets, building standardized BI templates, and teaching UX and data storytelling concepts to a wide range of business and technical users.
This is a highly collaborative role working closely with project leadership and a Data Literacy & Enablement team to elevate how data is communicated and consumed across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development of standardized templates for dashboards, reports, and presentations, applying UX and data storytelling best practices
Assist in the design and delivery of UX and data storytelling training for analysts, operational teams, clinicians, and researchers
Partner with cross-functional teams to provide consultation on data asset development and improve real-world analytics products
Apply accessibility standards and inclusive design principles across all data experiences
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, intuitive, and visually effective data solutions
Contribute to continuous improvement of enterprise data storytelling standards and practices
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required (related field preferred)
2+ years of UX experience with a portfolio of prior work
3+ years of hands-on data analysis experience
Strong foundational knowledge of user experience and data storytelling principles
Experience translating business questions into effective data visualizations
Proficiency with SQL and R
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Advanced experience with BI and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, QlikSense, SAP BusinessObjects, or similar)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of data analysis experience
UX certifications
Experience working in healthcare or other highly regulated environments
Experience building Power BI templates and enterprise reporting standards
Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive design best practices
Intermediate knowledge of medical or clinical terminology
