Overview
This is a mid-level technical role responsible for delivering high-quality audiovisual services for conferencing events. The AV Technician provides expert guidance on AV systems and workflows, ensuring seamless execution across multiple platforms. The candidate will provide design, installation, maintenance, and emergency repair services for all audio-visual (AV) equipment for a government customer. This position requires close collaboration with event stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors to guarantee reliable performance. Assignments demand precision, creativity, and deep technical expertise to troubleshoot issues in real time and optimize AV environments for exceptional user experience. Responsibilities

Provides customer support in defining and implementing solutions to customer problems in work processes and tools.

The capacity to progressively link, test, and modify as necessary the customer’s system and service components that interface with the equipment and services and support systems provided by contractors and other customers, and merge their respective functional characteristics into comprehensive, interoperable systems.

The candidate for the position will:

Install AV equipment as requested

Set up and configure audio and visual equipment for meetings, presentations, and events

Operate microphones, projectors, and video conferencing systems

Ensure all equipment is functioning properly before and during events

Monitor audio and video feeds to ensure quality throughout events.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly to minimize disruptions.

Maintain an inventory of AV equipment and ensure it is in good working order.

Qualifications

Possess 2+ years of IT, AV, and Broadcasting systems knowledge

Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members

Strong troubleshooting skills to address equipment malfunctions

Familiar with Crestron/AMX control systems as well as Polycom VTC platforms

Must be available for travel as needed

Must have reliable transportation for daily work, direct reporting in Washington, DC

Experience with audiovisual system setup and troubleshooting

Relevant experience as an on‑site support technician, front‑line help desk technician, or field technician

Manufacturer training such as Extron, Crestron, Biamp, Polycom, Cisco -

a plus

Other duties as assigned

Education

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

CTS certification preferred

Relevant manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Dante, Biamp) are a plus
