REPORTS TO: General Managers

JOB SUMMARY:

Anticipate geographic sales and marketing needs and be responsive to all requests. Aspire to achieve individual, department and overall hotel sales goals through motivation, dedication, knowledge, and determination for their hotels.

Overall responsibility for total revenue and yield strategies, implementation and results including group and transient rooms, group food and beverage, meeting room rental, local catering, audio visual, and other revenues.

Strategies will include market mix, pricing, proactive and reactive sales, marketing, and competitive analysis. Maximize profitability for the assigned hotels and outstanding quality service for the customers. Accountable to market performance and potential performance as well as budget, forecast, and target goals. Participate in total hotel management as a member of the assigned hotels’ executive committees. This role includes eligibility for a 40% bonus potential, based on individual and hotel performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with preparation and analysis of annual Sales & Catering budgets to achieve revenue targets. Responsible for monitoring overall sales budgets.
  • Work in tandem with Revenue Management on monthly, quarterly, and annual group rooms forecasting and yield management practices to maximize rate and occupancy within varying supply and demand conditions.
  • Preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly Sales reports as required for the hotels, regional team and ownership groups.
  • Knowledgeable of competitive set and recommends sales/pricing strategies, services and product improvements to stay competitive.
  • Collaborate with Marketing as needed on marketing and social media strategies for the hotels.
  • Interview, select, schedule, train, and conduct performance evaluations for Sales Curators, ensuring they perform in accordance with established hotel standards and consistent with company core values. Instill a guest service attitude in all Curators. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to Sales teams.
  • Establish team and individual booking and consumption goals for the hotels’ Sales teams.
  • Take a lead role in assisting, coaching, training, motivating and counseling all Sales Curators. Continually assess strengths and challenges of the Sales Curators.
  • Reinforce proper utilization of the hotels’ Sales systems to maintain accurate Sales data.
  • Review TripAdvisor, competitive shopping reports and other resources to maintain an awareness of the hotels’ market position. Stay abreast of industry and competitive trends and makes recommendations of changes which would impact operations and/or demand.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • 5-7 years’ experience in sales and marketing leadership roles in a multi-hotel luxury/lifestyle brand environment preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management or related required.
  • Strong computer skills, including, but not limited to , use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applications.
  • Experience with Marriott Sales and reporting systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in annual budget and business plan creation and presentation.
  • Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans.
  • Knowledge of hotels and competitive market.
  • Ability to recruit, supervise, train, and motivate multiple levels of Curators.
  • Ability to assess/evaluate Curators’ performance fairly.
  • Excellent time management, self-management and self-motivation. Must be organized with a keen focus on detail.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Coury Hospitality grooming standards.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is generally performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
  • Must have the ability to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed. Must be able to move around the hotel, stand for long hours during events and travel between assigned hotels and to visit clients. Driving and air travel may be included.
