Freelance Editor Needed — Short Food & Lifestyle Publication

We are producing a short editorial-style food publication (approximately 10–12 pages) and are looking for an experienced freelance editor to help refine and shape the content.

The goal is to produce something that reads like a small food or lifestyle magazine, not marketing copy.

Most of the material is already drafted. We are looking for someone who can help elevate the writing, improve editorial flow, and ensure a consistent voice across the publication. Writers may need to be hired to fill in content openings.

Responsibilities

Edit and refine draft content

Improve readability and editorial structure

Ensure a consistent editorial tone

Suggest headline or section improvements where helpful

Coordinate with CMO for hiring writers to fill content gaps

Provide final editorial polish before layout

Ideal Background
We are looking for someone with experience, such as:

magazine editing

food or beverage journalism

cookbook or lifestyle publishing

editorial storytelling

Experience working with food-related publications is a strong plus.

Project Scope

Approximately 10–12 pages total

Majority of content already drafted

Editing and light structural guidance needed

Target publication timeline: early summer. Target date of June 1.
