At DAVIS, we’re redefining the way people experience construction by building success for all. As the in-house expert, the Pursuit Manager is responsible for managing all elements of DAVIS’ project procurement response. The Pursuit Manager must be able to develop, write, and edit proposals in response to requirements derived from formal solicitation opportunities (both Federal and Private), and work with other departments and market sector leaders to gather information required for the response. Responsible for providing pivotal analysis and procurement expertise for all market sector groups to utilize toward the successful pursuit of new business. Overall responsibilities include ensuring brand continuity for DAVIS through the provision of collaborative, detail‑driven proposal development strategy and resources.
Essential Duties + Responsibilities
New Business: Presentations, Proposals, and Qualifications
Manage team; make assignments, delegate responsibilities among team members
Main point of contact for all RFPs and RFQs received; key liaison with Executives, Estimating & Operations groups on upcoming potential projects
Manage production and updates of relevant marketing materials; production and content of resume, reference, experience, project information and boilerplate materials per established brand standards
Manage project information maintenance and updates through database program; track project progress; provide project awards/development information for internal and external communication
Review RFPs and RFQs to establish an appropriate plan of action
Lead and manage the production and content of RFP and RFQ response materials
Lead and manage analysis of opportunity vs. strategic goals; advise on go
o-go process
Lead strategy and analysis of joint venture / external partnership opportunities
Manage the opportunities process; recording, tracking and updating database program; collaborate with IT and Employee Resource Planning (ERP) implementation groups in development of new opportunities tracking
Manage and consult on interview strategy and presentation preparation, in tandem with MarComm and Market Sector Leaders
Manage development of interview and presentation agendas and processes
Attend pre‑proposal conferences for large submissions
Stay current on new trends in team presentation styles, procurement methods and contracts
Marketing: Materials and Communication
Ensure collaboration with MarComm in order to maintain brand integrity on all elements of the proposal
Lead and manage research process; consult with MarComm, Market Sector Leaders and Executives to ensure all research needs are being met
Manage the implementation of project‑specific presentation content
Communicate needs for project photography / renderings to Brand Identity Manager
Advise with the creation of operations‑focused documents as needed
Advise on multi‑media strategies as they pertain to project development
Corporate Support
Perform responsibilities with excellence in service, integrity and building relationships as exemplified in DAVIS core values
Champion the DAVIS culture
Consult on Corporate Knowledge Center (CKC) class development; advise on best practice initiatives
Advise on development of corporate brand image / presentation of DAVIS
Advise Communications & Marketing on corporate strategy and business goals
Maintain and maximize personal membership and event participation with key industry organizations (e.g., Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP))
Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Experience + Special Skills
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Marketing or Construction‑related field
At least seven (7) years of previous experience; must have a high level of experience and understanding of GSA proposals (SF 330) and other technical government proposal preparation
Prior team management experience
Strong technical writing experience
Strong ability to write creatively and to appeal appropriately to each audience with each message
Experience using MS Office 2010, various graphics and presentation programs (e.g., Adobe CS6/Cloud, Acrobat 9 Pro, Prezi)
Decision making, research and analytical problem‑solving skills
Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands, and to work independently
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and interact effectively at all levels within the organization
MS Office – Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook experience; solid understanding of A/E/C industry, but able to offer a different perspective
Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) and/or LEED accredited
Interest in sustainability and community service

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 – $130,000.00.
