Choir Director

Goal: To build a team of musicians who see music as a vehicle to help the church grow.

General qualifications: 1. Committed to the mission of the church as it carries out the Great Commission. 2. Ability to get along with people and win their cooperation. 3. Ability to organize. 4. Possesses a recognized level of musical competency. 5. Commitment to work with the Pastor.

Order, select and prepare appropriate music for choir. Direct and accompany choir on regular basis from September through May. Train choir members in choral technique; focus on spiritual interpretation of music, encourage fellowship and congregational leadership and participation. Assist in recruiting choir members. Assist in securing soloists or other vocalists on select occasions.

As music coordinator work with a worship committee to develop and administer budget for music ministry, maintain music library, carry out development for music (planning, PR, communication).

Accountability: To the pastor for direct supervision. To the congregation through the Board of Elders.
