As a Ship-wide Sound Technician,

you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all sound systems across multiple entertainment venues on board. This role ensures high-quality audio experiences for various performances, events, and activities while maintaining the artistic vision of the production teams, operational efficiency and technical excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate and maintain all sound systems in entertainment venues for rehearsals, shows, special events, and other activities.

Assist with setup, positioning, and strike of microphones, audio cables, headphone amplifiers, stage monitors, and other audio equipment.

Meet with guest entertainers and groups to determine their audio requirements.

Maintain the artistic standards of the producer, director, and technical designer, ensuring sound quality aligns with production expectations.

Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of audio equipment, ensuring all systems are in good working order.

Keep detailed documentation of audio equipment schematics and signal flow for maintenance and troubleshooting.

Ensure stock levels of spare speaker drivers and batteries for regularly used equipment.

Follow environmental, safety, and compliance policies, including adherence to USPH guidelines and SQM standards.

Work with the head sound and light technicians to plan equipment installations and major purchases.

Ensure proper labelling and organization of sound system racks, including circuit breakers, speaker configurations, and audio connections.

REQUIEREMENTS:

Minimum 21 years old

Relevant ship experience is preferred

Good level of English language

Ship experience is preferred

Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with guests, department heads and crewmembers to foresee and resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
