Mercy Housing, the nation's largest affordable housing organization, is looking for a Content Strategy Manager. This position supports the development of narrative direction, leads proactive content planning, and brings to life compelling stories that reflect the organization’s mission.

Eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

PAY:

$67,000 - $77,000 annually, dependent on experience.

Duties

Own and manage Mercy Housing's communications content calendar for internal and external audiences.

Lead a proactive, audience-aligned content strategy tied to organizational goals, campaigns, and regional priorities.

Develop and evolve a message hierarchy and editorial framework that ensures consistency of voice, tone, and narrative across all content channels including web, email, social media, print, and internal communications.

Provide content and copy for a variety of communications materials, including but not limited to: emails, social media, web, and print materials such as newsletters, brochures, and annual reports and more.

Lead story mining efforts across regional teams, program areas, and resident communities to surface compelling impact stories that elevate Mercy Housing's national profile and reinforce enterprise strategic priorities.

In partnership with the Senior Director, support the development and evolution of Mercy Housing’s social media approach across platforms.

Develop and refine a channel differentiation approach that positions social media as an audience development engine, not simply a distribution channel.

Support the execution of Mercy Housing’s public relations efforts, including drafting and distributing press materials and contributing to relationships with journalists and media outlets.

Partner with regional teams to surface and elevate local stories, helping connect community impact to broader organizational priorities.

Create and provide copy for a variety of donor-facing materials including direct mail appeals, email campaigns, annual reports, impact stories, and stewardship communications.

Provide content in support of the donor pipeline, supplying compelling copy and narratives for acquisition, nurture, and stewardship communications, in close coordination with the National Philanthropy team.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Five (5) years of copywriting for marketing materials.

Three (3) years of content strategy experience.

Two (2) years of public relations.

Two (2) years of nonprofit experience.

Preferred Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
