We are looking for a motivated Producer who is enthusiastic aboutidentifyingthe “big story” of the day and understands what makes an impactful newscast with a focus on strong writing andshowcasingskills.This position is focused on producing live TV newscasts, but there will be opportunities to create content for our digital platforms.

KQ2, in a strategic partnership with the News-Press & Gazette Company, broadcasts across all four major networks (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC).

This isa great opportunityin the television industry and an excellent position to learn and improve your producing, reporting, writing, and storytelling skills.

Required Qualifications

Prior experience producing TV newscasts

Strong broadcast and digital writing skills

Ability to work in ahigh-pressureenvironment with staff of all levels

Must be able toalways lead by example

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or mass communications

Ability to occasionally shift schedule on short notice

Must Haves

Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record

Proficient knowledge of TV broadcast equipment

BS degree in journalism or mass communications is preferred

Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background screening

Requirements

Must live within the St. Joseph area highly preferred: a desire toestablishroots in the Midwest.
