Job Description:
A leading enterprise infrastructure organization is seeking an experienced
Regional Director – Critical Infrastructure
to lead mission-critical operations across a regional portfolio of high-availability facilities. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing infrastructure maintenance, operational reliability, vendor management, compliance, capital planning, and team leadership across critical environments.
The ideal candidate will drive uptime, operational excellence, preventive maintenance strategy, infrastructure lifecycle management, and budget performance while ensuring safe and compliant facility operations in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead regional critical infrastructure operations across multiple mission-critical facilities, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and operational continuity
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire/life safety, and related infrastructure systems
Manage vendor sourcing, contract negotiations, bid processes, service agreements, and performance accountability
Develop and execute infrastructure maintenance strategies aligned with operational goals, compliance requirements, and risk management standards
Own annual maintenance operating budgets, expense management, capital planning, and cost optimization initiatives
Evaluate infrastructure health, identify end-of-life equipment risks, and recommend lifecycle replacement strategies
Oversee break/fix repair activities, capital improvement initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, and reliability enhancement projects
Review and approve maintenance documentation, Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and change control activities for infrastructure work
Ensure adherence to safety standards, regulatory compliance, internal operational policies, and risk mitigation protocols
Lead emergency response efforts for critical incidents, infrastructure failures, and after-hours operational events
Build, mentor, and lead regional technical maintenance teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and workforce development
Partner cross-functionally with leadership, operations teams, finance, vendors, and external stakeholders to drive business continuity
Implement maintenance tracking systems, asset documentation standards, and performance reporting processes
Drive operational efficiencies, national vendor leverage, and cost reduction strategies across maintenance programs
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities, data center operations, or critical infrastructure environments
Strong expertise in electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems, including:
UPS systems
Backup generators
Power distribution systems
Transformers
Chillers
HVAC systems
Fire alarm and fire protection systems
Building Management Systems (BMS)
Proven leadership experience managing regional operations, facility engineering teams, or infrastructure maintenance groups
Strong background in vendor management, contract administration, and service delivery oversight
Experience managing operating budgets, capital expenditures, and infrastructure lifecycle planning
Knowledge of change management, MOP review, compliance controls, and risk assessment processes
Strong crisis management and incident response leadership experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Technical certification or formal training in electrical, mechanical, or critical facility systems preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related discipline preferred
