Engagement Summary
UI/UX Developer to drive and advance next-generation digital workplace UI/UX initiatives. The developer will be the lead resource for translating business needs into holistic mobile and web experiences, serving as a designer-developer hybrid across several visible projects.
Key Responsibilities
Research, design, develop, test, and integrate UX designs into JavaScript/Java codebases — owning technical feasibility end-to-end.
Act as designer-developer / SME on high-visibility projects, switching between design and development as needed.
Produce clean, semantic HTML markup that meets WCAG and ADA/Section 508 standards.
Build and support a customer-facing design system — components, defects, accessibility, and page templates.
Develop responsive, reusable interactive patterns and code libraries meeting W3 standards for HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
Hands-on front-end framework development (Vue.js, AngularJS, ReactJS, jQuery).
Collaborate with business analysts, senior developers, and architects through SDLC.
Maintain design files, wireframes, and mock-ups; drive usability reviews and prototype validation.
Stay current on UI/UX trends and recommend new tools and methods.
Minimum Qualifications
Extensive ADA / WCAG accessibility experience
Deep, hands-on front-end web application development experience.
Experience in creating conceptual and detailed design solutions grounded in end-user needs.
Working knowledge of storyboarding tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision).
Track record working with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum.
Strong skills in end-to-end Human-Centered Design (HCD) design, research, usability.
Comfort communicating with business and technology stakeholders to deliver holistic solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
UI/UX or web developer certifications and training.
Prior experience in the Electric and Gas Utility industry.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related business/technical field (or equivalent experience).
Exposure to Vue.js, AngularJS, ReactJS, jQuery.
Familiarity with screen reader tools (VoiceOver, JAWS, NVDA).
Experience inside Agile ceremonies and methodologies.
Adobe AEM exposure (nice-to-have per client).
