What to Expect
The group conducts thorough failure analysis investigations to identify and present critical safety and reliability risks to suppliers as well as design, manufacturing, research, and safety teams.
What You'll Do
Support routine Energy Quality activities at Gigafactory New York, including: Assist in the identification and resolution of manufacturing and design issues by participating in and leading root cause analysis investigations.
Utilize specialized lab equipment to perform detailed, thorough failure analysis procedures. Participate in audits of Tesla and supplier systems to maximize effectiveness of the team's root cause analysis techniques, documentation, and presentations
Work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and research teams to conduct investigations and analyses in support of various Energy Engineering projects
Participate in and lead continuous improvement and training activities within the team as well as with cross-functional teams and suppliers
Independently and accurately collect, analyze, and interpret data to provide actionable feedback to suppliers as well as design, manufacturing, quality, and research teams
Anticipate and identify potential problems, take preventative action, communicate, and present lessons learned to team members and cross-functional groups
What You'll Bring
Strong motivation to learn weld inspection and advanced physical, electrochemical, and thermodynamic theory and processes
Extremely detail-oriented with exceptional documentation, organization, and interpersonal skills
Ability to quickly learn and use technological tools and proprietary applications to record, interpret, and manage data with strict accuracy
Hands on experience inspecting and disassembling small components
Hands on experience using power tools and air tools. Knowledge of basic physics, chemistry, and electrical theory
Experience working in an ambiguous, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
Command the English language, both written and verbal

Quality Technician I - $25.88 - $28.80/hour
Quality Technician II - $30.46 - $33.67/hour
Quality Technician III - $33.09 - $38.46/hour
+ cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels
