Role Overview
As a Lead Strategist in Enterprise Strategy Development, you will work directly with senior leaders across the organization to develop business and functional strategies—especially those in support of growth and competitive differentiation.
Specific Responsibilities
Apply strong understanding of Target’s business economics and drivers; integrate guest, competitive, and financial perspectives into workstreams; draw clear links between data and business implications.
Define and own problem framing for assigned workstreams; translate ambiguous goals into structured questions; adjust framing dynamically as new insights emerge.
Synthesize analytical research into clear, actionable insights; translate findings into logical implications and early recommendations; validate conclusions through partner input and team discussion.
Craft coherent storylines and first‑pass presentation drafts; structure content for clarity and decision relevance; ensure consistency and logical flow of materials across outputs.
Communicate key findings and implications confidently to project teams and partners; tailor messages for different audiences; drive clarity and alignment through consistent communication.
Design and effectively manage detailed workplans for workstream execution; track progress, manage interdependencies, and adjust timelines as needed; ensure timely delivery of high‑quality outputs.
Provide direction and feedback to analysts; ensure alignment across functions and stakeholders; build strong relationships to support project execution.
Demonstrate Target and ESD values in all decisions and actions; set professional tone for collaboration and communication; uphold quality standards and inclusivity.
About You
Four‑year degree or equivalent experience
6+ years of professional work experience
3+ years of experience in the field of strategy
3+ years of retail or adjacent experience
Consulting experience preferred
Advanced degree preferred
