Visual Arts - Art History Temporary Pool
Commonwealth University's Department of Visual Arts seeks applicants for temporary faculty positions in Art History as needs arise. Based on the specific needs of the department at the time of appointment, a successful applicant must be qualified to teach introductory and/or upper-level courses in Art History.
Duties - Based on the specific needs of the department at the time of appointment, a successful applicant must be qualified to teach introductory and/or upper-level courses in the required subject area. Some examples of possible courses: ARH311 African-American Art, ARH330 Latin American Art, ARH340 Islamic Art, ARH350 African-Oceanic Art, ARH308 Modern Art, ARH310 Contemporary Art. The location for these temporary positions varies with the expectation of serving a multi-campus University within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
Qualifying Experience and Education (Minimum/Preferred) - Minimum Requirements: Master of Arts (MA) in Art History; PhD preferred. A strong academic background, college teaching experience and a strong record of professional activity preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Candidates should be prepared for the possibility of teaching classes online.
