Job Posting – Experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager
The Commercial Lines Account Manager will operate as a senior-level strategic service professional capable of managing sophisticated and rapidly evolving commercial insurance accounts with a high degree of autonomy, urgency, and accountability. The role requires a proactive professional who anticipates client and team needs, drives exceptional service outcomes, and consistently identifies opportunities to create capacity and operational efficiency across the service team.
Job Duties

Business Development – New and Renewal

Partners with the Producer and Account Executive to execute renewal and marketing strategies, ensuring timely preparation and submission of all marketing materials
Manages new business submissions, gathering complete underwriting information and providing competitive quotes to the Producer and Account Executive
Identifies and pursues opportunities to enhance client programs through risk assessments, additional coverages, endorsements, or policy upgrades
Collaborates with the Producer to solicit additional lines of business at renewal
Develops and maintains productive relationships with carrier representatives and underwriters to enhance favorable results for the agency and client
Actively participates in agency meetings and professional development to remain current on market trends, legal changes, carrier appetite, and emerging coverage options

Client Interaction

Serves as the primary day-to-day contact for the client, providing timely and professional responses to inquiries and requests
Proactively manages client relationships, ensuring all service standards are met
Delegates policy changes, such as adding or removing vehicles, equipment, and locations, and payroll changes
Provides clear, accurate insurance information to guide the client to informed decisions
Coordinates with the Producer and Account Executive on communication regarding complex and strategic client matters
Demonstrates a high-touch, responsive communication style through proactive outreach via phone, voicemail, email, and text to ensure exceptional client engagement and service continuity
Builds strong client relationships through consistent follow-up, responsiveness, and a sense of ownership over client outcomes
Maintains confidence and professionalism in direct communication with executives, business owners, carrier partners, and internal stakeholders

Supports agency profitability and efficiency by adhering to established workflows and use of technology
Accurately maintains all client, carrier, and prospect records within the agency management system
Collaborates with internal team members, underwriters, and leadership to resolve service issues promptly and effectively
Acts as a senior resource and operational role model within the service team by identifying gaps, stepping into complex situations, and helping drive accountability and execution across team workflows
Proactively identifies opportunities to absorb responsibilities, improve processes, and create efficiencies that support the broader service team and Account Executive function
Partners closely with claims, accounting, risk management, and service team members to ensure coordinated execution and a seamless client experience
Demonstrates leadership through action, initiative, responsiveness, consistency, and emulates the company’s core values
Helps elevate team performance by modeling urgency, accountability, professionalism, and client-first service standards
Job Requirements

7-10 years of insurance industry experience, with at least 5 years in Commercial Lines account management
Strong working knowledge of commercial coverages, risk management principles, and carrier underwriting practices
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and agency management system: proficiency with AMS360 and ImageRight is strongly preferred
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under time constraints
Self-directed, resourceful, and capable of working with minimal supervision
Ability to collaborate in a team environment and accept coaching and guidance from leadership
Licenses and Designations:

Property & Casualty Producer License (Required)
CWCA and CLCS designations (preferred)
Actively pursuing CRIS or CIC (preferred)

Demonstrated ability to independently manage large, complex, and fast-paced commercial insurance accounts with minimal supervision
Strong sense of urgency and follow-through with the ability to prioritize effectively in a high-demand environment
Proven history of taking initiative, anticipating needs, and driving work forward without waiting for direction
Highly responsive communicator who is comfortable engaging clients and internal stakeholders through multiple communication channels, including phone, voicemail, email, and text
Demonstrated growth mindset with a willingness to step beyond assigned responsibilities to support team and client success
Ability to identify workflow bottlenecks, resolve issues proactively, and contribute to overall operational excellence
Track record of delivering exceptional client service while balancing competing priorities and deadlines
