Reports to: REACH Principal
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
The REACH Information Specialist is responsible for the entry, management, and reporting of student data in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. Responsibilities also include coordinating school-level student data verification and internal control procedures, as well as providing support and guidance to staff using the student information system.
Essential Functions
Primarily responsible for maintaining internal auditing procedures at the assigned school site.
Keeps the school site in compliance and supports assessment
Coordinates with teachers and other administrative staff to implement systems ensuring minimal risk of audit flags.
Assists support staff with the creation of student files for all incoming students.
Enroll, update and withdraw students in the SIS.
Ensure all student information is correctly entered into the student information systems during the time of enrollment and through withdrawal from the school site.
Prepares for monthly audits, ensuring the integrity of student information, student work, and attendance uploaded to the student information system.
Ensure all documentation is ready and correctly processed upon students’ withdrawal.
Supports additional administrative duties as needed at the school site.
Utilizes problem solving and critical thinking skills to modify daily procedures to strengthen data management and entry at the school site.
Attend professional development, trainings, and district meetings assigned.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite and experienced in PowerSchool or similar database system.
Proficiency with computers and quick learner of in-company policies and of student record and attendance system.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
Strong organizational, interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Ability to follow up on tasks and commitments and give updates as needed.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to travel as needed.
Education and Experience:
A GED or a standard high school diploma from a GaDOE-approved and accredited institution is required.
Knowledge of student information application and MS Office Suite (word processing, spreadsheets, outlook, access databases, and file manipulation).
Experience using the Internet and windows-based applications.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and move throughout the building to observe classrooms and activities.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally (books, materials, equipment).
Work may include occasional evening or weekend hours for events, meetings, or emergencies.
