Position Function
The Coordinator for Marketing & Communications is responsible for facilitating and managing marketing and communications content for the Division of Access, Opportunity and Success.
Salary Grade
Grade: 14. Salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute social media strategy for social media accounts, focused primarily on the publishing of digital content on social media platforms (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), including assisting with content planning and creation for departmental accounts.
Write and produce clear, compelling communications and stories for publication on the department’s website, email campaigns, newsletters, and social media outlets to engage various audiences.
Manage content on divisional website and assist departments with redesign processes and content.
Work with departments with the Division to develop communication plans.
Provide training, as needed, to departmental staff on best practices for creating, managing, monitoring, and developing content.
Works closely with the Office of Public Affairs, Division of Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs on institutional marketing and communication efforts.
Establish and monitor benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media efforts, and report analytics and make recommendations for improvements.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
Received: Receives supervision from Vice President of Access, Opportunity and Success. Given: Graduate Assistant, student worker(s).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Graphic Design, Marketing, Public Relations, English, Journalism, or related field.
1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, English, Journalism, or related field.
2-4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven knowledge of and experience using appropriate technologies. Advanced computer skills and technical ability are required.
Excellent and engaging written and verbal communication skills that aid in finding original content. Also, ability to creatively produce and package content, including writing creatively.
Proven time management skills, multi-tasking, meeting deadlines and moving projects from inception to completion.
Proven ability to take quality photographs and shoot video for social media platforms.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office 365.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
No or very limited physical effort required.
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.

Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
