About Uniform Advantage Brands (UA Brands)
At UA Brands, we’re changing the way healthcare and culinary professionals get dressed. For over 40 years, we’ve created stylish, high‑performance uniforms designed to empower those on the front lines. Our apparel breaks the mold, combining brilliant design with real‑world function. Join a team that values creativity, impact, and community, and help us redefine uniforms that don’t conform.
About The Role
Bring designs to life as a Senior Technical Designer and play a critical role in transforming creative concepts into high‑quality, production‑ready garments. This role sits at the intersection of apparel design, product development, fit engineering, and manufacturing, ensuring every product meets standards for fit, function, and construction.
You’ll collaborate with design, patternmaking, production, quality, and global vendors to manage the full lifecycle—from initial tech packs to final production approval. If you’re passionate about garment fit, technical specifications, and hands‑on sample development, this is a high‑impact opportunity to shape product quality and customer experience.
What You’ll Do
Develop and maintain technical design packages (tech packs) in PLM, including:
Flat sketches and technical drawings
Measurement specs and grading rules
Construction details, tolerances, trims, and labeling placement
Partner with patternmakers to ensure accuracy in fit, balance, and garment construction; review and refine patterns as needed.
Manage communication with domestic and overseas factories/vendors, including:
Sending tech packs and updates
Reviewing samples and size sets
Providing fit comments and approvals through production stages
Lead fit sessions on live models and dress forms:
Evaluate fit, proportion, and construction
Pin, photograph, and document revisions
Update tech packs with detailed feedback
Oversee sample development and style tracking using Excel or workflow tools to ensure timelines and production calendars are met.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with:
Design teams to align on fit, intent, and product vision
Production and Quality teams to ensure manufacturability and consistency
Customer insights teams to analyze returns and improve fit performance
Evaluate returned or high‑return styles by reviewing physical samples from the warehouse and identifying construction or fit improvements.
Ensure size consistency and grading accuracy across categories and brands.
Maintain organized systems for sample tracking, approvals, and documentation.
What You’ll Bring
7+ years of experience in technical design, apparel product development, or garment construction.
Strong expertise in:
Patternmaking, grading, and fit analysis
Garment construction and manufacturing processes (including offshore production)
Advanced experience with PLM systems (Product Lifecycle Management).
Proficiency in:

Deep understanding of the apparel development lifecycle (concept to production).
Experience working with factories, suppliers, and trim development (preferred).
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast‑paced retail or apparel environment.
Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
